HIV Mental Health Services

Mental health programs provide licensed outpatient mental health services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Services include psychological and psychiatric treatment and individual and group counseling.

Background

In 2002, the HIV Quality Management Program convened Ryan White Title I-funded mental health providers to develop HIV mental health performance indicators and began to collect performance data for Ryan White Title I-funded mental health services. Data were first collected for calendar year 2002. In 2003, mental health providers began to participate in QI Learning

Network meetings and receive QI technical assistance to develop projects to address quality improvement in their service programs.

Funded agencies provide licensed outpatient mental health services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Services include psychological and psychiatric assessment, treatment and individual and group counseling.
