HIV Treatment Adherence
Treatment Adherence programs provide education, support and counseling to promote access to and adherence with prescribed treatments in order to improve the quality and length of life for HIV/AIDS patients. Counselors assist clients with making informed choices about treatment options and in addressing the many issues related to adhering to treatments.
Background
In 2001, the HIV Quality Management Program convened Ryan White Part A-funded Treatment Adherence providers to develop HIV Treatment Adherence performance indicators. (revised 2007)
